Laura is currently serving as Co-EP on the Blumhouse TV/Showtime limited series adaptation of journalist Gabriel Sherman's book The Loudest Voice in the Room: How the Brilliant, Bombastic Roger Ailes Built Fox News -- and Divided a County starring Russell Crowe as Roger Ailes.
AMBI Distribution and Paramount Worldwide released Here and Now, the drama produced by and starring Sarah Jessica Parker that bowed at the Tribeca Film Festival under the title Blue Night. The film is directed by Fabien Constant in his feature helming debut and co-stars Jacqueline Bisset, Simon Baker, Gus Birney, Common, Taylor Kinney, Phillipa Soo, Renée Zellweger and Waleed Zuaiter. It hit theaters and VOD on November 9th, 2018. Here, the cast talks to DEADLINE about the film.
"Entertainment One has picked up television rights to Peter Nichols’ best-selling novel The Rocks, with War & Peace helmer Tom Harper on board to direct. Laura Eason ("House of Cards", Sex With Strangers) is attached to adapt the series. Harper, one of the hottest directors coming out of the UK at the moment, will produce along with Josh Varney, Ben Pugh and Eleanor Moran of 42 while La La Land producer Fred Berger and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones will exec produce via their Automatik banner." - DEADLINE
Laura's acclaimed adaptation, originally produced and directed by her at Lookingglass Theatre in Chicago, recently completed a successful 18 city UK tour after three previous sold-out runs at the New Vic (Newcastle), The Royal Exchange (Manchester), and the St. James Theatre in London. The show will come to the U.S. in spring of 2019 and play the New Victory in NYC.
Laura served as a writer/producer on season 5 of "House of Cards", her 4th year on the show. The new season dropped on Netflix on May 30, 2017. Season 5 received the show's 5th consecutive Emmy nomination for Drama Series. Laura received her first Emmy Nomination as a producer.
After lauded productions at Second Stage, NYC; Steppenwolf Theatre, Chicago; Sydney Theatre, Australia; a production in Spanish in Buenos Aires, Argentina; a sold out run at Hampstead Theatre in London; a production in Portuguese at Teatro das Artes in Rio, Brazil; and dozens of productions in the U.S., the play continues to have productions in 2019.
